Christmas cards
Looking after a medieval church and making it a welcoming and appropriate space for contemporary village communities is a challenge which inspires many different ideas for generating income. In St Kenelm’s Church in Enstone, Oxon, we have a stained glass window given in memory of the 17th Viscount Dillon of the Ditchley Estate. It’s not particularly old (dedicated in the 1930s), but presents a vibrant nativity scene with many delightful details. I was asked to take some photos which could be made into Christmas cards. As I explored the window, individual characters and decorative features stood out and told their own story, giving me the opportunity to create modern designs from a traditional subject.
